"Cottage Chic"

Escape to a place that is cozy and welcoming, filled with bright, friendly colors and familiar, comforting patterns; this style trend is called Cottage Chic. With a demand for smaller spaces creeping into into the American marketplace and a trend towards nostalgia or a gentler time - its seems we are craving a home that takes us away from our troubles and feels like it's nestled in a glen or aside a quiet lake. Don't let the term "cottage" fool you into thinking this is "grandma's house", this trend is clean, refined and modern, highlighted with classic objects, antiques and clean simple sensibility.

Rustic console table but with clean simple lines.

The color of sunshine, lemonade and daisies - yellow makes a room feel fresh and inviting. Brilliant pairings with bright white or light blue bring out the best in yellow and makes a room come alive.

If there is one rug construction that is the hottest in 2012 - it's the flat weave. Loved by many for their style, ease, texture, antique spirit and affordable price point; these rugs, referred to by many as durries or indian blankets, emit a global vibe while providing a modern and chic feel. If you want to simply and easily cover hardwood floors, without the use of a heavy carpet, the flat weave might be exactly what you're looking for.

"Spring At The Door"

When it comes to decorating my front door I have shown little restraint. I have dressed my front door with platters, mirrors, lanterns, clocks and baskets of flowers, to name a few. But this year for Spring I feel like more of a simpler door decor. Here are a few quick and easy designs to inspire you.

Queen Anne's lace wreath is a beautiful look for Spring on the front door.

This Citrus wreath should get Spring knocking at the door.

This lovely dogwood wreath will take you all the way from the beginning of Spring to Easter.

Whenever I think of garden roses, I think of romance. I love decorating at Spring with roses. So when I saw these garden rose wreaths at market, I had to order a stack of them. If you are feeling crafty we have a wonderful collection of garden roses by the stem right now at Hermann's. For a little oomph to your wreath add a lovely bow. A burlap bow will make these garden roses a little more rustic.

Even this simple pussy willow wreath will be great for Spring.

Hope this will give you a little inspiration as we march toward Spring!

"Just Around The Corner"

It's not quiet Spring, although its hard to tell here in Texas, but it's beginning to look like it around the store. The Hermann team has been hard at work starting to transform the store because our market orders are starting to arrive daily. Here is a first look at some of the new items that have been arriving.

Gorgeous faux concrete urns perfect for inside or out.

Barrel coffee table will add great character to the room.
Kincaids new grey collage sofa has been place with these beautiful iron and glass tables by Flexsteel.
Colorful embroidered pillows are in abundance to add a touch of Spring to your room.
Pale yellow and blue pottery
New from The Round Top Collection is this adorable wedding collection that is perfect for a lovely country wedding.
A lovely collection of white pitchers to add to the kitchen or any room.
These orchids are so realistic your guests will never know.
Bunnies, bird nests and fresh new florals are great ways to get rid of the winter blues.
This kitchen vanity with a stone top was one of my favorite things I found and can see this in a outdoor kitchen, pool house or indoors in the utility room or kitchen.
A clear glass lamp can go in may style rooms from traditional to contemporary.
A rustic urn lamp will accessorize many a room beautifully.

What a great whimsical piece to add to your home. I know I would love it in mine.

Be sure to come and see us often because there is new stuff everyday and I will be helping you decorate your front door for Spring next week!
