Hanging Artwork

Artwork undoubtedly adds instant color, and personality to your home. Collecting artwork takes time and patients. I do not believe artwork should be about the artist or its increase of value, but about what it means to you. Here are a few simple tips to help you display the art in your home.

When deciding how to hang your pictures, remember balance is very important, as well as knowing when to Lette eye rest. A tall space over a buffet or an entryway may call for a single large painting, but that wall that goes on forever over the sofa can handle a large grouping of artwork. The artwork should be different shapes and sizes, but with similar themes, like a collection of botanical mixed with landscapes, or English hunt dogs alongside hunt scenes.

Don't be afraid to mix different frames either; its ok to pair black with gold and burled wood. You can even add wall scones, antlers or plates in with your artwork to add more interest. But whatever you do make sure to have fun with it and that it is something you will enjoy looking at for a long time.

" Prints Charming "

Mix and Match Prints with Bold Solids

Little prints. Big prints. Bold prints coupled with softer florals. This season prints are all grown up and yet still fun, whimsical, and always friendly.

You will notice exotic patterns that speak of far off lands - to little, sweet princess prints mixed with bold swatches of color. Mix them up and create your distinct medley of style and tone.

Bring in furniture with clean modern lines to add a little contrast for a very refreshing look this spring and summer.

"Birds Of A Feather"

Flock Together Feathers are everywhere this season. From feather clips for your hair, to high end fashion-feathers are flying down runways.

And what are feathers without birds? The world is bursting at the seams with all things aviary.

Peacock to finch, large and small-feathers are fun, natural and just a bit mysterious.

Our feathered friends are firmly represented this season with soft rugs made with the lightest looking feather patterns.

Keep the natural aspects and couple this with spring greens, copper, warm gray colors.
