Market Report

 "High Point Market Report"

The week that shapes the world of home furnishings. Six days of energy and excitement, with breath taking products to engage and inspire you. The one week when fashion and function combine for a singular and memorable shopping experience. High Point Market.
My heart began to race in excitement as I ran from showroom to showroom, hunting for this year's "finds"-truely unique home furnishings and accents I love so much, I'd want them in my own home. Here are a few of my favorite picks from market this year, plus today's hottest trends.
Bright blue, beautiful blue is definitely on the rise this market.
To die for accent pillows.

Yellow and red took center stage in Brambles showroom.

These yellow and gray silhouettes stole my heart.

This showroom is one of my most inspiring. I always walk away amazed at the creative ideas that this great team of designers come up with to tantalize. It really gets my creative juices flowing with fabulous creations to bring back to you.

These horse prints will be great in our Texas Ranches!

Love these Antique Irons!

So much to see!

Honeysuckle.(pink)
Every year, Pantone-the authority on color- predicts the hue that will dominate both runways and showrooms. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets adrenaline going. Expect placements-a little here, a whole lot there- throughout many home catagories.

Use splashes of the bold color in design accents like pillows and art.

Adorable ottomans.

Anyone will feel like a King or Queen in this stately chair.

Henry Link Trading Co.
This amazing new collection by Lexington is so great this is all I can show you, the entrance into one of the best furniture collections I've seen in a long time. They were very strict about no photos! I tried very hard because I always want my great customers to see it first. The security gaurds inside the showroom didn't seem to care though. But not to fear I bought lots and you will be the first to know when it arrives this Fall.

Gorgeous grey is still in our forecast this year!

Painted black console and accents are always abound.

This little desk will add character to any room.

"French Market" look still capturing our imaginations.

Sleek Kincaid bedroom furniture.

Just a touch of pink from Kincaids upcoming upholstry this Fall.

Jazz up your study with this console from Flexsteel.

Cozy leather sofa.

After days of rushing about market, ordering like crazy, now comes the fun part: Seeing the shipments arrive at the store. Visit us soon to snatch up the treasures, then come back often because new things will be arriving every week.
See you soon!

Top Gifts for Brides and Grads

"Top Gifts For Brides and Grads"

If your like most of us, you have a list of weddings, showers and graduations to attend this spring and summer. And, like most of us, you're probably rushed for time and can't spend hours hunting for that elusive "perfect gift."
At Hermann's, we wait on lots of young people who are just starting out life, whether they're heading off to college for the first time, they're new college grads moving into their first place or they are newlyweds building a home together. So we know what they love- and what they hate- when it comes to gifts.

To help you in your quest for a present that sends them over the moon, I've pulled together my short list of never-fail gift picks. Here's to short but Successful shopping expeditions!

Best Gifts for Brides and Grooms

Aluminum serving pieces. Whether it's a serving plate, bowl, chip and dip or cake plate, aluminum serving pieces make ideal gifts for newlyweds because they are affordable, attractive, versatile and so easy to care for. The young couple can use them to serve or as decorating tools - fill an aluminum bowl with fresh limes, and you have a darling centerpiece!

Kitchen linens. You can't go wrong when you give kitchen and table linens to newlyweds. What young couple doesn't need cute dish towels, table clothes, place mats and napkins to go with all those dishes they've just received?

Trays. In my book, you can never have enough trays because they are incredibly versatile. Newlyweds can use them as serving pieces when they entertain. They can hang them on the wall as artwork or use them as the base or backing of a tabletop display. They are great placed on a coffee table to corral the remotes or on the kitchen table to hold the day's mail.

Cake Plates. These gotta have decorating pieces can be used to serve the delectable dishes the new bride and groom cook up in their first home, or as a base for seasonal decorative displays. For even more drama, stack them on top of each other. I love cake plates in glass, metal, china.....who am I kidding - I love them all!

Pitchers. Another essential for the newlyweds, pitchers are not only practical for everyday purposes, filled with ice tea or o.j., they also make wonderful vases for flowers. Or, use them to hold kitchen utensils or linens. I also love to cluster collections of cream ware pitchers atop kitchen cabinets or on buffets.

Rose bowls. Rose bowls are a versatile piece that can grace the coffee table, mantel, entry chest or a dining table in any new couples home. Fill them with flowers or set an inviting glow to the room by placing a candle inside them. Choose from a more traditional cut or a contemporary one depending on the newlyweds taste and you'll be sure to please the happy couple.

Lanterns and birdcages. I'm crazy about lanterns and birdcages because they are one of the best year-round decorating tools you can find. For spring display, fill with a fern and your done. In summer, fill with a battery operated candle for outdoor dining. In the fall, toss in some vines and gourds and you have a great harvest display. For winter, try some pine cones or Christmas tree bulbs.

Bookends. Bookends are the kinds of things that everyone can use, but rarely buy for themselves. We have a great collection at Hermann's, from the traditional to the fun and funky.

Serving Pieces. This will add the perfect finishing touch to any newlyweds table. And something you can never have to many of when it comes to entertaining. We have some wonderfully eclectic serving pieces to fit any style.

Monogrammed Acrylic Entertaining. Practical and attractive, our acrylic monogrammed trays, glasses, place mats and ice buckets are a wonderful for outdoor entertaining here in Texas. And what newlywed couple wouldn't want their new monogram on these great pieces.

                             Gifts For Grads

Picture Frames. Starting out at a new college or at a job in a new city can be a bit scary at first. So give the grad some picture frames to fill with photos of friends and family.

Votives and Scented Candles. Have you ever smelled a boy's college dorm room, frat house or first apartment? If so, You know why scented candles are a must. They add a bit of style and a much-needed breath of fresh air.

Lamps. Today's dorm rooms are not like the dorm rooms we remember-cold, sterile and institutional. Today's co-eds are decorating their dorms, sorority rooms and student apartments to the nines. Grads love interesting accent lamps that are ideal for studying and that add style to their space.

Artwork. One of the last things the new grad will invest in is artwork, yet nothing warms up a dorm room or first apartment like art. Pick out a set of inexpensive framed art prints they can hang in a grid or display in an easel n a bookcase.

Bedding. In a dorm room or studio apartment, the bed is often the focal point of the room. So treat the grad to some stylish or funky bedding, like washable quilts, accent pillows or duvets. We're carrying a brand new line at Hermann Furniture that's bright fun and very affordable.

Desk Top Accessories. What better way to help get the new grad organized than some stylish desk top accessories. They will love our fun and whimsical file folders, mouse pads, notebooks and paperweights. We have a great selection in both of our two stores.

Free Standing Letters. This a great way to help any grad have memories of all they've experienced at school. You can customize their initial with just about anything you can imagine or leave it plain for a simple stylish statement to fit any new grads decor.
